DON'T OPEN TILL CHRISTMAS (you can open this now, though)

Well, the BLOODY APES episode has been indefinitely postponed. If only someone would pay us to watch and chat about movies! Well, stiff upper lip and all that...
Now for your present (or pressie, as they would say in this movie): We got you a Christmas episode! Surprised? I knew you would be. Does it fit? Great! It's DON'T OPEN TILL CHRISTMAS, a nasty little piece of work from the 1984 England. Someone's murdering Santas in London. Matt is joined by Jason Farrell and Gordie Adams (Gordcast) for this yuletide treat.
Will New Scotland Yard and the UK version of David Cassidy as a street flautist be able to get to the bottom of this grisly mystery? Will there be boobs? Sort of and yes! HERE'S THE LINK

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM US TO YOU!

KYLE

Kyle's returning to the show for the 1st time in a year (time flies). We'll also have our friend Andrew (from the Houseboat Horror episode) join us to discuss René Cardona's infamous NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES. You can watch it here and be all ready for the next episode, you lucky devil!

FLESH FEAST!

UPDATE: There was an issue with the episode's feed which has been corrected now, so you can find it in iTunes or in the direct link.

Matt is joined by Joe Kincher and Devin Bruce to discuss Brad F. Grinter & Veronica Lake's 1970 movie FLESH FEAST. Movie maverick Grinter was just about to make the greatest Thanksgiving anti-drug, Christian screed ever BLOOD FREAK, but he was still getting his directing chops up with a biker movie and this little number. Poor Veronica Lake thought this movie would be her comeback and financed this nonsense story wherein she plays Dr. Fredrick a woman on the verge of using light-treated maggots to rejuvenate old flesh, even the flesh of the most hated figure in all the 20th century...but, I've said to much. So, prepare yourselves for the Reich that comes before the fifth one...I've said too much. DIRECT LINK.

"Unabridged!"
- Joe      "Democracy!" - Devin     "Stultifying!" - Matt

He's got to relive those awkward, zitty teen years...good!

"Thank heavens there's nothing creepy in here!"

"I'm not working with Coppola or Peckinpah next, am I?!?"

NEXT UP: We have some more guests coming and will announce the movie here and on our Twitter account. Leave us some feedback in iTunes, won't you?

SLEDGEHAMMER!

I rounded up some folks to make a get-well-Scott episode and we had too many people for one episode. This one features Jason Farrell (from the Mystics in Bali & Death Bed: The Bed That Eats episodes) and Rob Hafferman (from the Star Crash episode). We discussed the recently deceased David A. Prior's first movie, the SOV SLEDGEHAMMER (1983). Ten years after a terrible mother and her lover are slaughtered in remote farmhouse and her child is never seen again. Because this is a movie and it was the '80s, a van full of exuberant twenty-somethings brings lots of food and alcohol to this site. The consequences are dire. Episode available from our iTunes feed or HERE.
Seriously, do these pants give me "mom butt" or what?

That summer Mike Love got really into steroids and face-licking...
These masks always upset me...

Next up: KYLE, JOE, and DEVIN will be on to talk about the 1970 Brad F. Grinter (BLOOD FREAK) movie FLESH FEAST starring Veronica Lake...wait, WHAT?

Scott

Our beloved co-host, Scott, was seriously injured this weekend. We would much appreciate all your thoughts and prayers for his recovery. Get well, soon, Scott. We love you.

SCARY TALES! (1993)

We take a hiatus from our hiatus and chat about the 1993 shot-on-video no-budget love letter to Tales from the Crypt called SCARY TALES. Available from iTunes or from here.
I hope this guy went on to do erectile dysfunction ads.

I liked the pre-Photoshop days when a bad movie had a bad cover...which I actually like, btw.

We Need to Talk About Jamie...or, THE PIT (1981)

Matt & Scott talk about the 1981 horror movie The Pit about young Jamie, who is troubled by bullies and librarian lust. In this tender coming-of-age story, we follow Jamie as he faces the trials and tribulations of adolescence the same we all did: with the help of a bunch of hairy, hungry creatures in a hole in the woods. Get the episode through iTunes or download it here.
I miss my old Thinkin' Hole.

"Uhhh...we're not doing anything in here...but don't come in!"

Before 'Mac and Me' there was...THE PIT!

NOTE: We'll be taking a brief break from regular episodes. Busy schedules force us to fall back on sporadic podcasting for the coming summer. We'll be focusing more on episodes with guests, Matt will do some mini genre-overview spotlights, and we'll be talking about even wackier movies than what we've done before. We're always available on Twitter.

The Sadman Cometh!

We love Dave Jordan's Sadman web comic. It is absurd, existential, blackly comical, & very cool. Matt woke up with a Sadman strip in his head, so he (crudely) made it and Dave was kind enough to publish it on his site. Make sure to go his page and check out Dave's great stuff.

LUCKY SEVEN...HALLOWEEN in APRIL!

So, if I get a time machine and kill them, I can prevent the Power Rangers from happening?

The subtle, understated use of color in '80s clothing. I don't miss it.
Scott & I discussed the '86 Hong Kong kids' movie LUCKY SEVEN. Think Little Rascals meets Goonies meets Benny Hill or something. I don't know. Download it here.

NEXT UP: We are pushing #halloweenInApril HARD! If you tweet, start promoting this new holiday. There are virtually two Christmases now. Let's have 2 interesting holidays in the year, too! For our part, we'll be bringing the scary with 1981's The Pit. Join us! One of us! One of us!

Wisconsin's answer to Flashdance: BLOODBEAT!

Available through iTunes or for download here.
Scott and Matt discuss this muddled slasher, Samurai, Wisconsin deer hunting flick. Can you explain what happened to us? We'd love to hear your explanation!
"By the power of Joyce DeWitt!"

I cannot stress enough the importance of a fiber-rich diet.

Every art teacher in the early '80s EVER...

NEXT UP: Scott is very excited about 1986's LUCKY SEVEN. I hope you have fluoride, because this thing looks sickly sweet and cute and annoying as all hell.

From Italy with Lasers...STAR CRASH!

Matt & Scott are joined by artist and raconteur Rob to discuss a slab of Asiago meant to capitalize on the success of Star Wars. The C-3P0 analog sounds like a cartoon cowboy! Stop-motion robots! Perms!
The always-delectable Caroline Munro stars with former child preacher Marjoe Gortner, David Hasselhoff and Christopher Plummer. Available on iTunes or from HERE.
"I got yr copyright infringement right HERE, pal!"

"Heineken?! F@#k that s&$t! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!"

I know which one I'd rather snuggle up with on a cold night!

NEXT UP: We'll be discussing the 1983 samurai/slasher/possession horror film Blood Beat. Join us!

TOYS IN THE ATTIC

We discuss THE SINFUL DWARF. You can get it through iTunes or here.
This is this guy at about a 7. Like somebody filled Jack Black full of blow and put him in a trash compactor.

"I can't seem to get these toys to make baby-toys, no matter how much I mate them!"

Ugh, now you've put me off fruit.

NEXT TIME: We discuss Star Wars knockoff STAR CRASH with our pal Rob.
